This privacy policy describes how the Pixel Helper for OpenAI Ads (unofficial) browser extension ("the Extension") handles information.

1. Affiliation

This extension is an independent, third-party developer tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to OpenAI, OpenAI Inc., or any of its subsidiaries. "OpenAI" and "ChatGPT" are trademarks of OpenAI Inc. and are used here for descriptive purposes only.

2. What the Extension does

The Extension inspects HTTP requests made by the OpenAI Ads measurement pixel (oaiq) on websites you visit. Its purpose is to help advertisers and developers debug their own pixel installations.

3. Data we collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any user data.

The Extension reads the following information locally on your device only, displays it in the extension popup, and discards it when you close the tab or browser:

This data never leaves your browser. We do not operate any backend server. We do not use analytics, telemetry, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

4. Permissions explained

Permission Why it's needed
webRequest To observe (read-only) outbound requests to bzr.openai.com so the popup can show what your pixel sent. The extension does not block, modify, or redirect any traffic.
webNavigation To detect when you navigate to a new page so per-tab state can be reset.
tabs To attach popup state to the correct tab and clean up when tabs close.
host_permissions for https://bzr.openai.com/* and https://bzrcdn.openai.com/* Required by Chrome to allow webRequest observation on those domains. The extension does not request access to any other domain at the network level.
Content script <all_urls> To inject the oaiq wrapper on any site where you might be debugging your own pixel. The content script reads only window.oaiq calls; it does not read page contents, form data, cookies, or other site state.

5. Third parties

The Extension does not transmit data to any third party, including OpenAI itself. All processing is local.

6. Children's privacy

The Extension is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.
